If you saw Al Gore's An Inconvenient Truth, you will recognize the image above. The red line is the famous (infamous?) hockey stick graph. Notice how it shoots up almost vertically in the late 20th century. It's a compelling argument for AGW (Anthropogenic (Human caused) Global Warming). This graph, devised by Dr. Michael Mann, is based on a gigantic lie that has been perpetuated in dozens of scientific (sic) studies. The data behind this graph was compiled by Professor Keith Briffa of the Climate Research Unit in 2000. Since that time Professor Briffa has refused to archive the original data and make it available to the scientific community at large. Recently, and by force, the raw data was made available: "This sounds esoteric, but here’s the important bit: what McIntyre discovered was that Professor Briffa had cherry picked his “tree data sets” in order to reach the conclusion he wanted to reach. When, however, McIntyre plotted in a much larger and more representative range of samples from exactly the same area, the results he got were startlingly different." Look at the graph again and notice the black line. This line represents reality. The famous hockey stick never existed unless you happen to cherry pick ten trees out of a much larger set of data to get the results that you desire. Conclusion? Man made global warming is a myth and nothing more than the politicization of natural climate fluctuations. Add as favourites (0) | Views: 247 | Print | E-mail
